Construction of the Target store, 20 additional specialty stores and undercover two level car park commenced. |

Centre underwent major face lift including construction of Hoyts Cinema 7 complex. |

Centre was purchased by AMP. |
| 1997 |
Commenced stage one redevelopment. |
| 1998 |
Completed stage one and the opening of 90 new stores including Big W and a new Woolworths supermarket. |

Completed stage two and the opening of 60 new stores including Big Fresh, 650 seat food court, new centre stage, community facilities and a new multi-deck car park. |

Completed refurbishment of “The Market” and opening of Dick Smith Electronics Powerhouse and Bing Lee. |

"The Market" and "Arena Cove" precincts were launched and controlled parking was introduced. |

Centre's weather protection program was completed, involving roofing of the South Mall precinct. |
